Meet the team Jean Main Partner Jean qualified as a CA with another independent Aberdeen firm before joining Ritson Smith in 1989 as an audit supervisor. Jean went on to become audit manager and senior manager before becoming a partner in 1999. As with the other Ritson Smith partners, Jean has regular, hands-on involvement with a portfolio of SME clients, and she is responsible for audit standards within the firm. “We know our clients like having continuity in their dealings with us – we don’t shuffle our people round the country every couple of years like the ‘big four’” she observes. “At Ritson Smith it’s a point of pride that we all really get to know our clients, and how they run their business, so we can make a long-term contribution towards reaching their objectives.” Outside the office, Jean is to be found keeping fit in a local gym, and, by choice, she is one of the few in the firm to have resisted the lure of the golf-course. “Somebody has to be in the office during the summer!” she jokes.
